Information That May Be Collected
Information can arrive in several ways. A search query entered into a third-party search box may be sent to that provider rather than stored as an official Jackson County record. A message sent through a contact method may include the sender's name, email address, phone number, and the details they choose to provide. Server and service providers may also receive technical data such as an IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, date, and general usage events.
Cookies or similar tools may remember preferences, measure visits, support security, or help deliver advertising. The exact data created by an outside search partner, analytics provider, or ad network is controlled by that provider's own notice.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to operate and protect the pages, respond to a message, understand which county-record topics are useful, prevent abuse, maintain the search experience, measure traffic, and disclose a technical problem. Contact details are not a request to confirm custody or obtain a Sheriff record. The originating agency must receive an official records request.
Government records law, including Georgia's Open Records Act at O.C.G.A. ยงยง 50-18-70 et seq., applies to government custodians, not to this private reference service. A message here does not create a government filing.
Cookies and Technical Logs
Basic technical logs can be kept for security, performance, and diagnosis. Cookies may be session-based or remain for a limited period set by a service provider. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some functions or sponsored search tools may not work as intended afterward. Advertising and analytics technologies may use their own identifiers and controls.
Links and Search Providers
Pages link to the Jackson County Sheriff, Offender Index, Clerk, Georgia Department of Corrections, Georgia Archives, BOP, ICE, police departments, news publishers, and other resources. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that organization's privacy terms and data handling apply. The same is true of a third-party search box embedded in a page. Jackson County Busted Mugshots does not control an outside provider's retention, pricing, results, security, or use of a submitted query.
When Information May Be Shared
Information may be available to service providers that host pages, process technical events, deliver analytics, display advertising, or support a third-party search tool. A provider may receive only the information needed for its function, but each provider sets its own practices. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or a valid order from law enforcement or another authorized body.
No promise is made that an outside government portal, publisher, or search partner will treat data in the same way as this service.
Security Limits
Reasonable administrative and technical steps may be used to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be secure. Do not send sensitive identity documents, passwords, medical information, or an urgent safety report through a general message. Use the record custodian or emergency channel that fits the situation.
Children and User Choices
The pages are not directed to children under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor's information was submitted can request review through the Contacts page. Depending on the data and applicable law, a person may ask what personal information is held, request correction, seek deletion where appropriate, withdraw a voluntary message, or object to a use. Identity and legal limits may require verification before a request is acted on. Government custodians have separate procedures.
Updates to This Notice
This notice may be revised when the service, partners, or legal requirements change. The newest posted version applies from its stated update date. Continued use after an update means the revised notice is available for review. Questions about the notice can be sent through Contacts; questions about custody, booking records, or court results belong with the originating office.
